Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens suffered through an incredibly disappointing 2025 NFL season.

After beginning the year expected to compete for a Super Bowl run, the Ravens didn’t even make the playoffs. Jackson dealt with multiple injury issues throughout the season and the team never looked like a playoff contender.

Heading into the 2026 NFL offseason, Baltimore will look to make some changes. One big change has already been made, as the Ravens opted to move on from longtime head coach John Harbaugh following the conclusion of the 2025 season. Jesse Minter was hired to replace him.

From a roster perspective, there are quite a few ways Baltimore could look to improve. One potential avenue could be to add another weapon for Jackson to work with.

Keeping that in mind, a new prediction would see the Ravens add that kind of player.

Baltimore Ravens Projected to Land Dynamic Playmaker

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter has released a new mock draft. In that mock draft, he has Baltimore getting a steal with the No. 14 overall pick in the first round.

Reuter has predicted that the Ravens will land Ohio State standout wide receiver Carnell Tate.

“It seems like Baltimore always finds value in the middle or later parts of Round 1,” Reuter wrote. “In this case, the Ravens scoop up Tate, whose profile is appealing enough that he could go in the top 10; with his strong hands and crisp route-running, he seriously boosts the potency of Lamar Jackson’s arsenal.”

During the 2025 college football season with Ohio State, Tate performed well. He caught 51 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 17.2 yards per reception.

Tate is capable of making plays down the field and he’s also able to be a possession wideout. His skill-set would give Jackson a much-needed weapon to take the offense to the next level.

What Would the Ravens’ Offense Look Like With Tate Included?

Jackson is still one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. He had a down year in 2025, but his 2024 campaign was worthy of the MVP award.

Along with Jackson, the Baltimore offense features superstar running back Derrick Henry. Even at 32 years old, Henry carried the football 307 times for 1,595 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. He’s still one of the best in the league as well.

At wide receiver, the Ravens already have Zay Flowers as their No. 1 target. Tate would be a perfect No. 2 option and Rashod Bateman could also factor into the equation.

DeAndre Hopkins seems likely to be on his way out of Baltimore this offseason. Tate would be able to replace him immediately. That alone should make the Ravens have interest in him.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding Baltimore as the offseason gets underway. Tate may not end up being available when the Ravens are on the clock in the 2026 NFL Draft, but if he is he’ll be a strong consideration.
