Fabrizio Romano has provided fresh twist regarding Liverpool signing "incredible" £87m attacker

Liverpool are reportedly in the conversation to sign highly-rated RB Leipzig youngster Yan Diomande, with Fabrizio Romano providing a new update.

The 19-year-old is arguably one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking players currently, being linked with a move to Anfield various times of late.

It clearly isn’t going to be for Liverpool to get their man, however, with Diomande expected to the subject of interest from many of Europe’s top club this summer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel [via Liverpool World], Romano dropped a twist in terms of saying Diomande’s father supports the Reds rather than him, again mentioning them as an option:

“There is a lot of interest guys from several clubs in England also in France because Paris Saint-Germain have been monitoring the player. Several clubs are following Diomande, who is one of the most interesting wingers around. I told you already several times, United and Tottenham have sent their scouts multiple times to follow him.

“But let me add one thing guys. We have absolutely to include Bayern Munich as one of the clubs interested in Diomande because Bayern are following the player closely. My understanding is that Bayern manager Vincent Kompany. appreciates the player and so it’s still early. There are going to be several clubs interested in Diomande.

“Also there were some reports in the last days about Diomande having Liverpool as his favourite club. He clarified today that it’s his father’s favourite club Liverpool is not directly on Diomande. But Bayern are part of the conversation and are informed on the situation of the player who recently signed with a new agency. So the situation could be an interesting one for the summer.”

Yan Diomande a player who can light up Anfield

Liverpool have to push hard in their efforts to sign Diomande this summer, considering what a special footballer he could become as the year pass.

The £87m-rated attacker has already made a big impact for Leipzig at the age of just 19, bagging 15 goal contributions in 24 appearances – nine goals and six assists – while scout Jacek Kulig described him as “incredible” over the weekend.

Liverpool aren’t necessarily desperate to sign a player of Diomande’s ilk, with centre-back a more important position to focus on in the summer, but the chance to sign such a big talent who can play all the way across the attack should never be passed up.
