Cleveland has found its Jim Schwartz replacement.
The Browns are hiring Falcons defensive pass game coordinator Mike Rutenberg as their defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported Monday.
Rutenberg takes over a defense rich in talent after Schwartz [resigned](https://www.nfl.com/news/jim-schwartz-not-returning-as-browns-dc) in the wake of new head coach Todd Monken's [hiring](https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-to-hire-former-ravens-oc-todd-monken-as-new-head-coach).
The 44-year-old was a key part of coaching up Atlanta's passing defense last season, which started the year as one of the league's best against opposing quarterbacks and finished 13th in passing yards allowed.
