An NFL player was reportedly jumped by "four goons" outside of a New York City hotel this weekend.
The New York Post is reporting that Cleveland Browns defensive back Ronnie Hickman was jumped outside of a Lower East Side hotel, shortly before 5 a.m. E.T. on Monday. Hickman is coming off a strong season with teh Browns, emerging as a key starter.
Hickman was reportedly "approached by four goons in the lobby of the SIXTY LES hotel on Allen Street shortly after 4:30 a.m., and a dispute broke out, police and sources said," according to the New York Post.
"The suspects then slugged Hickman and took off."
Hickman, 24, starred collegiately at Ohio State. He was undrafted in 2023, signing with the Cleveland Browns.
The New Jersey native was hospitalized.
"The NFL star - a onetime Ohio State standout who graduated from De Paul Catholic High School in Passaic, NJ - was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. He is believed to have been released by Monday afternoon," the New York Post added.
"Police have not announced any arrests in the attack."
The Browns fired head coach Kevin Stefanski following the 2025 season. The Browns hired Todd Monken to replace him.
Cleveland is coming off a 5-12 season.
