Why this Eagles star traveled to South America with his career at crossroads

Eagles center Cam Jurgens is determined to get healthy after an injury-plagued season in 2025 sent his career into a downward spiral.

Jurgens has already taken the first step. He spent the last week in Medellín, Columbia, to receive stem cell treatments, which improves your body’s healing ability by using stem cells to treat musculoskeletal injuries and soft tissue problems, according to the New England Stem Cell Institute.

In a video posted on Instagram, Jurgens wrote “Go Birds” on a stem cell bag and spoke with excitement about his recovery.

“Let’s go,” Jurgens said. “I’m excited to get healthy and get ready for this next season. So that’s why I’m down here.”

As Jurgens battled through back and knee injuries this past season, he struggled to make blocks on the run and anchor in pass protection. The Eagles will need him to be quicker and stronger in 2026 if they hope to become a Super Bowl contender again.

Another bad year from the offensive line could lead to more failure, and the Eagles may need to replace Jurgens eventually if he doesn’t bounce back.

In 2024, Jurgens was considered one of the NFL’s best centers, which helped him earn a four-year, $68 million extension last offseason. Now, the 26-year-old’s career hangs in the balance, depending on how well his body recovers.
