Ja’Marr Chase breaks silence on Joe Burrow

The Cincinnati Bengals have had a rough go of things as of late. Despite having arguably the most potent passing attack in the league, the Bengals are looking at three straight years of not reaching the playoffs.

In each of those seasons, the Bengals have boasted one of the worst defensive units in the league, and star wide receiver feels that it’s not difficult to see what needs to be addressed this offseason to get things turned around.

“Yeah. I mean, everybody pretty much knows what we need,” [Chase said, via Russell Heltman of Sports Illustrated.](https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/onsi/allbengals-insiders-plus/ja-marr-chase-q-a-cincinnati-bengals-star-discusses-wide-range-of-topics-during-2026-offseason-01khbphgr31k) “I’ve said it out in the media. All I gotta do is sit back and watch. I can’t control that, so all I gotta do is control my production.

“I mean, at the end of the day, I’m just stating my opinion on what I think we need. So, you know, I sit back, let the organization do what they do, and I just gotta let my play do the rest.”

Chase was also asked about the idea that the Bengals organization was wasting his and Burrow’s prime years.

“Everybody has an opinion at the end of the day, and an opinion sometimes just is a right to be heard. But I can’t judge people on what they feel. I know all I can do is control what I can control, and that’s my play. And what my play does is only how far I can lead the team to success or not.”

It’ll be interesting to see what changes the Bengals make to get the ship righted this offseason before its stars start demanding a change of scenery.
