Warriors' $100 million champion urged 'not to test free agency' this summer

Despite rumors that he would be dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Draymond Green stayed with the Golden State Warriors past the NBA trade deadline.

Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz thinks that is to the Warriors' detriment.

Swartz has ranked Green number one on his list of the NBA's 10 most overrated players, in which he says that the four-time NBA champion's "reputation no longer comes close to his actual production."

The 35-year-old Green was even advised in the article to pick up his $27.7 million player option for the 2026-27 season, as the chances that he would make that much in free agency are slim at best.

Green this season owns averages of 8.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. A first-team All-Defense selection last season, Green this season boasts a career-worst 113 defensive rating -- and the Warriors are slightly better defensively when the four-time All-Star is off the court.

"We're now nearly a decade removed from Green's lone Defensive Player of the Year award and it's been eight seasons since he's averaged more than a triple single," Swartz wrote.

Ouch.

If Green wants it, he will be back with the Warriors next season. But after that, Golden State might have to have a tough conversation with him.
