There were few Big Ten schools buzzing back and forth on social media about accomplishment by alums after Super Bowl 60. This came after Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold became the first former USC passer to start and the big game.
The Trojans quickly fired off a post on X after the game about being 1 of 25 schools to have a QB win a championship and an astronaut on the moon. While this initially seemed to be impressive, Michael Jordan likely put North Carolina to the top on Sunday.
The NBA legend earned his first NASCAR Daytona 500 win as co-owner of 23XI Racing. But Jordan isn't alone in this motorsports feat. His UNC teammate Brad Daugherty, who owns Hyak Motorsports, also won the Great American Race in 2023 with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. behind the wheel.
This will likely never happen again in history with two college basketball teammates taking home a Harley J. Earl trophy. North Carolina should celebrate by putting together a graphic of their own. Needless to say, this is truly 1 of 1.

Jordan's rise to ownership at NASCAR's highest level hasn't been a smooth road, but it's one that's starting to pay off. Not to mention, he adds another ring to his collection.
