Bayern Munich'make contact'with£200k/wk LFC star's father - they still want to sign him

**Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz for £100m in the summer and despite beating Bayern Munich to his signature, the German club remains intent on signing him.**

Social media went into meltdown in the summer when it emerged that Liverpool really were the favourites to sign Wirtz.

When the rumours first emerged, many rival fans online didn’t believe the Reds would be able to beat Bayern, Man City, _and_ Real Madrid to his signature. It was a fair point.

Until this summer, Liverpool had never really acted with the type of authority they did. All in all, their summer spending came to £460m with £116m committed to Bayer Leverkusen in exchange for Wirtz.

Now, with the German flying after six goals and eight assists, Bayern seem to be doing everything they can to convince Wirtz to move to Munich.

He continued: _“The outreach was calculated rather than spontaneous, it followed a familiar Bayern playbook, offer congratulations, rebuild warmth, re-establish emotional proximity, and subtly remind the family that the door back home is never locked._

_“The subtext was unmistakable, should nostalgia or comfort ever begin to outweigh ambition, Bayern would be waiting._

_“It is the same strategic patience the club applied in the Leroy Sane case during his Manchester City period, maintaining dialogue over time, preserving trust, quietly positioning themselves so that when a contract edge approached and circumstances shifted, the groundwork had already been laid._

_“Bayern assumed a similar long-term framework could be installed here, that steady contact and institutional gravity might eventually bend the direction. In this instance, however, the reading of the situation was flawed.”_
