Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown Lead NBA In Impressive All-Star Game Stat

Another All-Star weekend has concluded in the NBA, and once again, the results left quite a bit to be desired. For the Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown was the team’s lone representative, although he likely would have been joined by Jayson Tatum had he been healthy enough to play this season.

With Tatum recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, Brown has taken his game to another level this season. Not only is he averaging career highs across the board (29.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 4.7 APG), but he’s also generating legit MVP consideration.

Brown put on another strong performance during the All-Star Game, as he scored 15 points across his three contests. With that scoring output, Brown moved up to second on the All-Star Game scoring list for games played in the 2020s. Ahead of him on that list is none other than Tatum, even though he did not partake in the festivities this year.

Much has been made about players not putting much effort into the All-Star Game, but that complaint cannot be made about Tatum and Brown. Both guys typically go out and look to put on a show for the fans, with Brown even participating in the 2024 Slam Dunk Contest.

In 2026, the All-Star Game split the players into two American teams and one World team to compete in a round-robin tournament. While the games were more competitive for the most part, the final matchup between the two American squads was a dud, showing that this event still needs work.

The Celtics will enjoy a couple more days off before they return to action later this week. Boston will begin its post-All-Star Game slate with a west coast road trip, which will kick off on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET when they square off against the Golden State Warriors.
