NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the Miami Dolphins are releasing former All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
The Buffalo Bills should be in the mix to sign a big-name free-agent wide receiver this offseason, and one player who could be on their radar became available on Monday.
As reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Miami Dolphinsare set to part ways with wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
“Miami’s eight-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill is being released,” Schefter wrote Monday on X. “Hill turns 32 on March 1, is recovering from a dislocated knee and torn ACL, and now will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.”
Bills Named Fit to Land Hill This Offseason
Hill will have the opportunity to choose where he wants to play next season, and CBS Sports’ Garrett Podellbelieves that the Bills could be a great match for him.
“If a Chiefs reunion doesn’t materialize, the wide receiver-needy Bills could call their former rival to help quarterback Josh Allen,” Podell wrote on Monday. “Khalil Shakir led Buffalo with just 719 receiving yards in 2025, and the team’s receiver usage was unstable, with a league-high eight players logging 100-plus snaps. Like Kansas City, Buffalo must navigate cap constraints, but Allen’s elite arm talent could entice both sides in a shared push for Super Bowl relevance.
“Hill also tweeted sympathy for the Bills following their overtime playoff loss to the Denver Broncos, so perhaps he wouldn’t need much persuading to join Buffalo.”
The Bills should consider signing Hill, as he could provide the explosive playmaking ability they need to stretch opposing defenses. Hill has played 10 seasons in the NFL, spending his first six with the Chiefs before moving to the Dolphins for the last four seasons.
Hill recorded 819 receptions, accumulating a total of 11,363 yards and scoring 83 touchdowns over the course of 145 games. The only concern is that Hill participated in just four games this past season after suffering a nasty knee injury.
Buffalo Should Go All-In
It will be interesting to see how teams evaluate his physical condition this offseason, as concerns about his knee could signal the end of his career. Hill will also turn 32 on March 1, and that milestone might contribute to a decline in his performance.
The Bills should consider signing Hill and exploring what he could contribute to the team. If Hill weren’t a free agent and Buffalo needed to trade for him, it wouldn’t make sense to give up valuable draft picks or players. However, since he’s available on the open market, the Bills should definitely take the opportunity to bring him in.
Josh Allen hasn’t had his go-to veteran since the Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans in the 2024 offseason, and Hill could fill that role.
The Bills should consider trading for a veteran wide receiver this offseason and aim to sign Hill as well. Buffalo needs to go all in, as it has been so close to reaching the Super Bowl, and it could benefit from every piece needed to get there.
