It is the first time the club have reached this stage of the competition since the 1996/97 season.

On that occasion, Wrexham made it to the quarter-finals before losing to Chesterfield.

They now have the chance to pull off a second Premier League scalp of the season against the eight-time winners.

Wrexham have already beaten Nottingham Forest as well as Championship club Ipswich Town in the competition this term.

Reynold's X-rated reaction

Following Monday night's draw, Reynolds took to social media to share a video of himself watching along.

The Hollywood star was joined on a sofa by legendary Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman as they tuned in on a tablet.

With Wrexham already drawn out of the hat as the home side, they could be seen eagerly awaiting the identity of their opponents.

A shocked Reynolds immediately dropped the tablet as he clapped his hands, with the news leaving him speechless to begin with.

Having composed himself slightly, he exclaimed: "We're at home to Chelsea. Yes, f***. What the f***!"

Meanwhile, Jackman added: "That is what you wanted," as the pair high-fived.

Reynolds posted the video to X, writing: "Chelsea at the Racecourse! Holy crap."

Wrexham are already enjoying their best FA Cup run since Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed their takeover of the club in 2020.

They had previously made the fourth round twice in 2023 and 2024 before going a step further with Friday's win over Ipswich.

Next month's meeting with the Blues will be their first since February 1982, which was a Second Division match.

Wrexham ran out 1-0 winners on that occasion, having lost the reverse fixture 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The two sides also met in that season's FA Cup fourth round, with Chelsea originally drawn at home.
