One radio host believes a trade of Amon-Ra St. Brown could be possible.

Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is about as valuable as it gets for the Detroit Lions, as he was ranked fifth overall among all NFL players at his position in total receptions and yards accumulated.

When it comes to “untouchable” players, most would agree that St. Brown fits that bill. However, one particular Detroit radio sports host on the Lions’ flagship of 97.1 The Ticket believes that there would be an ideal package for Lions GM Brad Holmes to consider actually parting ways with St. Brown for.

Rico Beard, who is one-half of the wildly popular afternoon drive “Valenti and Rico” show, one of the highest-rated afternoon drive FM sports shows in the country, answered in the affirmative when a caller asked if he’d consider trading St. Brown if it meant that the Lions received DT Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs in return.

His reasoning was that even though the trade of St. Brown would sting, the Lions still have talented wideouts like Isaac TeSlaa and Jameson Williams, and could target a veteran wide receiver as a third option via free-agency or trade.

“I’d do it, it would hurt, but you’ve got TeSlaa here, you’ve got Jamo (Jameson Williams), here, you could go and find a veteran wide receiver if you need them,” Beard said when asked by a caller if he’d do the trade if he were GM Brad Holmes. “Yes, and you’re adding Chris Jones to go along with Aidan Hutchinson? I’d do that trade in a heartbeat.”
