The Chicago Bears 11-5 record was their best since their 12-4 season in 2018.
The Chicago Bears experienced a foundational shift in 2025. Ben Johnson infused the team with a palpable belief that helped turn the franchise around. Chicago went from 5-12 and at the bottom of their division to an NFC North champion with a Divisional Round playoff appearance within just one season. While the entire league now recognizes the Bears as a legitimate contender, history suggests that they could be Super Bowl-bound next season.
The Philadelphia Eagles wonSuper Bowl LIX during the 2024 NFL season. Then the following season, this year, the Seattle Seahawks wonSuper Bowl LX. This isn’t the first time these franchises have made consecutive Super Bowls. DraftKings posted the next logical team to make the Super Bowl based on this occurrence via social media.
The last time these teams went to consecutive Super Bowls took place twenty years ago. Across the2005 and2006 seasons, both the Eagles and the Seahawks lost. Then the next year, the Chicago Bears lost in the Super Bowl during the 2007 NFL season. They played inSuper Bowl XLI and fell to the Indianapolis Colts.
The theory is based on NFL history, which suggests that the Bears will not only be in the next Super Bowl but will win it based on the Eagles and Seahawks trend.
While it may not be the most tangible reason why the Bears could be destined for Super Bowl LXI, it’s not the only theory placing them in the big game next year.
NFL Logo Theory Also Corroborates Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl Appearance
Following the conclusion of Super Bowl LX, the NFL released the logo forSuper Bowl LXI, set to take place at SoFi Stadium on February 14, 2027.
Over the past decade, fans have theorized that the colors featured in the logo coincide with the teams that play in the game. Yahoo Sports posted a summary of the coincidental occurrences from this theory, recapped by Suresh Menon.
“From Super Bowl LVI’s orange-and-yellow logo leading to a Rams-Bengals matchup to Super Bowl LVII’s green-and-red palette matching Eagles vs. Chiefs. Even last year’s red-and-green logo lined up with another Eagles-Chiefs showdown,” Menon recapped.
The logo forSuper Bowl LX wasn’t as obvious as it featured a multitude of colors; however, the green and blue tones could align with the Seahawks and Patriots.
So the theory lives on, and based on the distinct orange featured prominently on the LXI emblem, many fans andsports outlets alike are attributing it to the Chicago Bears.
While the theories are fun, they are fueled by the Bears’ recent turnaround. Despite DraftKings’ postulating the initial theory, their recent Super Bowl odds don’t suggest their confidence in it.
Chicago Bears Ranked Middle of the Pack in Recent DraftKings Super Bowl Odds
Following the conclusion of Super Bowl LX, DraftKings released theirupdated odds for 2027. They have the Bears slotted as the 15th-most likely team to reach the pinnacle of American football next year. Their +2500 odds are five slots behind the Green Bay Packers’ +1400 chances. While these odds may be shocking due to the momentum the team gained last year, it’s most likely due to a lack of proof that the team can sustain their success beyond one season. The New England Patriots are also behind the Buffalo Bills, and the Houston Texans are ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars. All teams that won their division and had a great 2025 season, but featured a significant jump from the previous year.
Ben Johnson made it clear that despite what the team accomplished last season, they have to start over and prove their worth again. “We go back to square one,”Johnson said in a recent media availability. “We are back at the bottom again and that’s really all 32 teams. If you feel otherwise, you’re probably missing the big picture.
