Isak, Endo, Frimpong: Full Liverpool injury list and potential return games

Liverpool injury news on Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni.

Liverpool are into the final third of the 2025-26 season.

The Reds have 12 Premier League matches remaining - and their objective is clear. Champions League qualification is imperative for Arne Slot’s side, with their title defence ending months ago.

Liverpool are sixth in the table, trailing Chelsea by two points while Manchester United are three points ahead. But the league is not the Reds’ only focus. They harbour aspirations of Champions League glory, while a 3-0 win over Brighton moved them into the fifth round of the FA Cup.

But if Liverpool are to achieve their goals, they will need as many players as fit as possible. The Reds have had little luck in terms of fitness this season and it’s been a big reason why their form has stuttered throughout.

Slot’s men travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Ahead of the City Ground fixture, here’s a look at the Reds’ currently injury list and if anyone could be back.

Jeremie Frimpong - groin

The summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen finds himself on the treatment table for a third time. He has a groin problem, which has ruled him out of the past three games. Liverpool knew that Frimpong would take a few weeks to recover. The Reds have no midweek fixture so that could help although they may not take any risks.

Potential return game: West Ham (H), Saturday 28 February.

Alexander Isak - broken leg

Liverpool offered a rare insight into the £125m British record signing’s recovery last week. It is approaching two months since Isak sustained his injury when scoring in a 2-1 win over Tottenham. Sweden manager Graham Potter has admitted that he’s hopeful Isak will be able to play in his country’s World Cup play-off semi-final against the Ukraine next month. However, the Reds will very much err on the side of caution and will know Isak will need to build both strength and fitness.

Potential return: Mid-late March

Wataru Endo - foot

It was a cruel sight to see the fans’ favourite stretchered off in the 1-0 win at Sunderland. Endo was making his first Premier League start of the season and deputising as a right-back. He injured himself when making a crucial clearance at the back post. Slot is optimistic that Endo will be back before the campaign is over, although he’s set for a prolonged period on the treatment table.

Potential return: April

Conor Bradley - knee

The right-back continues his rehab after suffering bone and ligament damage in a 0-0 draw at Arsenal.

Potential return: Pre-season.

Giovanni Leoni - knee

The centre-back is still recovering from rupturing his ACL he sustained during his Liverpool debut in September.

Return: Pre-season

Jayden Danns - hamstring

The striker is well regarded by Slot and could well have started against Brighton had he been fit. But fitness woes have been the theme of Danns’ career so far, stunting his development. Danns is still to make a return for the under-21s and will need training before being ready for action.

Potential return: N/A

Stefan Bajcetic - hamstring

The midfielder has been on the treatment table for around nine months, having had surgery in the summer. Bajcetic has had setbacks during his return and has not made a single appearance at any level this season.

Potential return: N/A
