How Hollywood icon Ryan Reynolds reacted to Chelsea drawing Wrexham in FA Cup fifth round

Chelsea have been handed yet another away tie in the domestic cups this season, much to the delight of Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds.

Liam Rosenior’s Blues have travelled away for every tie so far in the League Cup and FA Cup, with them facing Hull in the first tie of the fourth round weekend on Friday night.

Pedro Neto inspired a fantastic Chelsea performance on the road, and they have been rewarded with arguably the glamour tie of the next round.

Wrexham’s rise towards the top end of the English football pyramid has been well-documented as a result of the highly successful ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ series on Disney+, and they are now pushing for promotion to the Premier League.

Ryan Reynolds delighted at drawing Chelsea in the FA Cup

Reynolds is part of the high-profile ownership duo of himself and Rob McElhenney, and the former filmed his reaction to drawing the eight-time winners in the next round.

He posted on his own Twitter page his instant reaction, and it is fair to say he was absolutely overjoyed at the prospect of welcoming the Blues to the Racecourse Ground.

While there will no doubt be frustrations that it will be another cup game away from Stamford Bridge, Chelsea should fancy their chances at another quarter-final on the horizon.

Their fifth round tie will take place between Friday 6 and Sunday 9 March, with some of their rivals for the competition having to face each other.

Are you convinced by Rosenior yet, Chelsea fans?

His start is almost as good as Jose's!

Rosenior given another chance to rotate

The boss took the opportunity against lower league opposition on Friday to allow for a rest for the likes of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

With Chelsea’s extensive fixture list set to pick up again with the upcoming return to the Champions League, Rosenior would love a chance to rest some of his big names.

Facing another Championship side probably does provide that. Moises Caicedo is one of those who has looked exhausted in recent weeks.

Despite that temptation, a win would see Chelsea just three wins away from winning the FA Cup for the first time since 2018.
