Report: Champions League final record holder included on Liverpool's four-man list to replace Salah

Liverpool are preparing for life after Mohamed Salah, who is under contract until 2027.

Salah’s future was called into question earlier this season when he conducted an interview after a 3-3 draw with Leeds United.

He has since returned to the starting eleven and has played every game post-AFCON.

Is Mohamed Salah about to make his doubters look REALLY stupid?

However, Saudi Pro League interest in Salah remains, and it’s still not clear whether he will see out his contract or leave this summer.

Regardless, it looks as though the 33-year-old will have departed Anfield within 18 months anyway, and Liverpool have started to plan for life after his exit.

On that front, a number of names have been mooted as potential options.

Yan Diomande to Liverpool has been a talking point for some time now.

Elsewhere, a fresh update via Graeme Bailey has seen three more European talents linked.

Bailey reported that FSG have begun to prepare for life without Salah and four have been looked at.

They are the aforementioned Diomande, Nico Williams and PSG duo Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola.

Liverpool were linked with Barcola previously, who has enjoyed much success in Ligue 1 alongside Doue.

Together, the pair helped the Paris-based outfit win the Champions League in 2025.

Doue scored twice in the showpiece, meaning that at 19 years and 362 days old, Doue became the youngest player to score two goals in a European Cup or Champions League final.

Liverpool will save millions from a Mohamed Salah exit

If Salah were to move to Saudi this summer, he would obviously fetch some form of transfer fee as his deal will still have 12 months to run.

But even if the winger leaves for free in 2027, Liverpool will free up a significant chunk of their wage bill.

Salah is the Reds’ highest earning star [Capology], taking home £400,000-a-week after penning fresh terms in 2025.

Over the course of one year, that works out at £20.8m, a fee that could then be allocated towards a replacement’s wages, transfer fees or both.
