Boston Celtics guard Derrick White says $10 million would make him change from his current No. 9 jersey.
Boston Celtics star Derrick White didn't give up his No. 9 jersey to Nikola Vucevic when he arrived in Boston after a trade from the Chicago Bulls.

However, when asked about the situation on The White Noise Podcast, White revealed that Vucevic didn't actually ask for the number -- and that it likely would have taken a significant amount of money for him to give it up if he had.
"He said something about it, but he didn't really say that he wanted it or anything. He mentioned that he wore No. 4 for the national team and that he's been No. 4 before. But yeah, it's kind of strange because there aren't a lot of nines in the league," White said.
"I don't know. Nine is my favorite number, so there's that part of it. Also, when I see people wearing No. 9 at the Garden and it's a Nike jersey, I'm like, 'I know that's mine.' There's something kind of special about that. And I know if it's an Adidas No. 9 jersey, that's Rondo," he noted.
"There's something special about looking up and seeing all that. My fans know me as No. 9," he added.
"I mean, if there were a special reason he wanted to be No. 9, maybe I would consider it. But I kind of want to stay No. 9. And if you look around here, there are a lot of nines."
Ultimately, White revealed the price that would convince him to switch numbers.
"I'm willing to switch for $10 million," he said.
