‘Untouchable’ – Arsenal told they’ve no chance of securing signing

Pio Esposito

28 December 2025; New Balance Arena, Bergamo, Italy; Lautaro Martinez of FC Inter celebrates after scoring goal 0-1 whit Francesco Pio Esposito of FC Inter during the Atalanta BC – FC Inter

Since last year, Sport Witness have been keeping a close eye on the situation of Italian striker Francesco Pio Esposito. This was well before the UK press began linking Arsenal with a move for him.

Some months ago, he had attracted attention from Leicester City and Manchester United. At that point, he had been impressing during a loan spell at Spezia but then returned to Inter Milan, also playing at the Club World Cup.

Fast forward, he has become one of the best youngsters in the game. He scored against Juventus in a controversial Derby D’Italia at the weekend, taking his tally to six in all competitions. He has just as many assists to his name.

The Italian press has now taken note of links with Arsenal and provide a warning to the Gunners.

Arsenal deal quite difficult

L’Interista report that the young striker is currently ‘untouchable’ for the Nerazzurri.

Even if interest from Arsenal should alarm any Italian side, Inter are resting easy right now. This is largely because the two parties share an unbreakable bond and there is confidence it won’t break anytime soon.

The 20-year-old is very grateful to the league leaders for helping him in his development. He is keen on paying them back with loyalty and crucial goals.

The outlet believe it was evident in his celebration after scoring against Juventus.

Even if clubs apart from Arsenal also have Esposito on their shortlist, a deal is very difficult – for now.

Esposito’s value should grow

This season, Inter have seen Marcus Thuram’s performances drop. This has seen Esposito fill in effectively, impressing in the Champions League as well. He barely seems fazed by the expectations, playing with maturity beyond his age.

At times, he has also looked more threatening than Lautaro Martinez and that speaks volumes for his quality.

There is no surprise about Arsenal’s interest but the way things are going, the Italian’s value is going one way. He could become a symbol for the Italian giants and with the World Cup coming up, he can replicate his progress with the national team too.
