Mamadou Sarr has barely spent a week at Cobham, yet the young defender is already turning heads with a set of habits that suggest he is cut from a different cloth than the average Chelsea teenager.
Chelsea’s decision to recall Mamadou Sarr from his loan spell at Strasbourg has already paid off, with the defender putting in a stormer against Hull City.
The defender has already put his name forward for a starting spot after one game, which will be music to the ears of Liam Rosenior, who has had to chop and change due to Wesley Fofana’s fitness.
Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo are the other two preferred options.
But Sarr is making a brilliant name for himself in such a short space of times.

Mamadou Sarr has been one of the first to arrive at training
The Sun have provided an update on Mamadou Sarr‘s situation at Chelsea after his return from his loan spell at Strasbourg.
Sarr has already made a strong impression at Cobham with his talent and ultimate professionalism, as one of the first to arrive at training.
And his relationship with Santos, which was formed under Liam Rosenior at Strasbourg, has helped him settle in quickly at Chelsea.
This is evident from Sarr setting a record as the first Chelsea centre-back to have a 98% pass completion rate this season, in what was his first game since returning.

What can Mamadou Sarr improve at Chelsea?
While Mamadou Sarr has arrived at Chelsea with comparisons to Virgil van Dijk, his transition to the Premier League will have its hurdles. Liam Rosenior has already identified growth in physicality and tactical understanding as the primary focus areas for the 20-year-old.
Despite his 6ft 4in frame, historical data from Ligue 1 suggests his aerial duel success rate is an area for improvement. Meanwhile, another area he can focus on is eliminating occasional lapses in concentration that can stem from his calm style on the ball.
Every defender has areas to improve, but at 20 years old to already put in the kind of performances he’s displayed is very promising. But the Premier League is a different kettle of fish.
