Despite the Super Bowl Halftime Show only taking place two weeks ago, rumors are swirling about who could perform during the coveted slot in 2027.

In 2026, Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, took to the stage in Santa Clara, California, for what turned out to be a highly divisive show. While fans and the majority of viewers praised Bad Bunny for his representation of Latino culture, the 31-year-old faced backlash from MAGA supporters, who criticized the performance for being in Spanish.

Kid Rock even headlined an alternative Halftime Show, organized by Turning Point USA. Despite condemnation from the right, however, including President Donald Trump himself, Bad Bunny's 13-minute concert was the most-viewed Halftime Show in history.

For 2027, unsurprisingly, Taylor Swift is an artist the NFL has been trying to sign for the Halftime Show, but people aren't fully convinced she'll say yes. "Taylor is always someone the NFL wants for the halftime show, but it will be her decision - and her decision only - whether she ever wants to do it and when she would like to do it," one insider told the Daily Mail.

Roc Nation, Jay-Z's entertainment company, which produces the Halftime Show, is expected to have whittled down its top choices by May or June, before artists are contacted.

Final negotiations are then held in July, with the performer being announced in November, midway through the NFL's season. However, it's been reported that plans could go out the window if Taylor Swift changes her mind and chooses to perform at the highly anticipated concert.

"Everyone will drop what they are doing and whoever they have asked if Taylor wants to do it," the aforementioned source explained. "If she wants to do it, she will do it. It is as simple as that. But there are a handful of reasons she will not be doing it next year."

Continuing, the insider added, "The reason that Taylor isn't interested in doing it yet is because, for one, it falls on Valentine's Day. She would only like to be at the game next year if Travis is playing in it. Otherwise, she will be a recent newlywed and would rather enjoy time with him than to perform on a day meant for love."

Additionally, the source noted that if Taylor were to perform, "she would want Travis to be retired." They also explained that Taylor's legacy "is already concrete," so she doesn't need to perform at the show, especially when there are other milestones she's concerned with, such as "marriage, family, and all the important things in life."

And while no stadiums have been confirmed for the Super Bowl, it is thought it could take place in Atlanta next year and Las Vegas in 2028, places Taylor allegedly considers too far from home for her.

The source suggested Taylor would be interested in doing the Halftime Show in a place like Nashville, and said the likelihood of that happening "is pretty good," as the Titans are meant to have a new stadium completed in 2027.

However, if Taylor can't perform at the Halftime Show, the source revealed that the Backstreet Boys and Miley Cyrus are interested in the coveted slot.

For Kid Rock, though, who headlined the Alternative Halftime Show, the source explained that there is "not a chance in hell" he'll ever perform at the actual Super Bowl. "Kid Rock is not going to be asked or will do it next year - that is as much of a 100 percent guarantee as ever," the insider concluded.
