CBS Sports' Josh Edwards predicted the Detroit Lions to select Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Detroit Lions have invested quite a bit of resources the past few offseasons to address cornerback. But the team still hasn’t fixed the issue.

For that reason, NFL pundits are expecting the Lions to make another significant cornerback addition this offseason.

On Monday, CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards predicted in his latest 2026 NFL mock draft that the Lions would select Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell.

“Terrion Arnold has struggled to stay healthy, and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. has been a non-factor since the team double-dipped in the draft,” Edwards wrote. “Rock Ya-Sin and others in depth roles are slated to hit free agency. Avieon Terrell provides immediate support.”

In three seasons at Clemson, Terrell posted 125 combined tackles, including nine for loss. He also had three interceptions, four sacks and 25 pass defenses.

Terrell registered nine pass defenses with five forced fumbles during the 2025 season.
