Man Utd are on the hunt for a new head coach again and they previously considered a controversial appointment.
Manchester United have begun their search for a new permanent head coach to be appointed at the end of the season.
Michael Carrick was appointed head coach for the remainder of the campaign after United sacked Ruben Amorim last month when he went to war with the club's board. Club sources insist the decision to part ways with Amorim was due to a lack of 'progress and evolution' on the pitch, rather than any internal power struggle.
Carrick's instant success suggests that Amorim might have been to blame more than he would like to admit, and the former United midfielder could emerge as a leading candidate to take the job permanently this summer. United always planned to hire an interim head coach before a permanent successor is selected at the end of the season, and the club insists they will not rush their decision or be swayed by emotion amid their recent revival.

Manchester United strongly deny Jurgen Klopp claim
No matter who Manchester United decide to appoint next, it is safe to say it won't be Jurgen Klopp. The German coach spent nine years at fierce rivals Liverpool before taking on his current role as head of global football at Red Bull, and made it clear he had no plans to manage another Premier League side, let alone United.
In a recent interview with Transfermarkt, Klopp's agent, Marc Kosicke, claimed the 58-year-old could have managed the England or United States national side, while he also sensationally suggested that both United and Chelsea inquired over a potential job after he left Liverpool. United sources strongly deny those claims and insist there was never any club contact for the former Liverpool boss.
"Maybe at some point he'll say he needs to smell the locker room again. But at the moment he's very, very happy in his role," Kosicke said. "Before joining Red Bull, Jürgen could have coached the United States or England. Probably also Germany, if Julian Nagelsmann hadn't already been there."
He added: "Even Chelsea and Manchester United inquired, although Jürgen had clearly stated that he would not coach any other club in England. These inquiries keep coming. He's extremely happy with what he's achieved. And it's still wonderful to go down in history as one of the few coaches who only managed three clubs and were never fired."
