How Chelsea could line up if Nicolas Jackson returns to join Liam Rosenior's squad - opinion

Reports have suggested that Nicolas Jackson could be a part of the Chelsea squad again next season, and the Blues can name a very strong frontline if he was at Liam Rosenior’s disposal again.

Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan at the start of the season, however it has already been confirmed that they will not be signing him permanently.

The AFCON winner has managed just five goals in 22 appearances this season, although many of those have come off the bench due to the presence of Harry Kane.

Throughout the season, Chelsea fans have wished for Jackson’s return, and may be about to get their wish as he is keeping his options open for the future.

How Chelsea could line up with Nicolas Jackson in Liam Rosenior’s squad

Cole Palmer’s relationship with Jackson on the pitch was very strong when they both featured at Stamford Bridge, and having the duo in the same front four would be ideal.

The England international is just starting to hit form again, although would clearly benefit from a selfless natural number nine who would be willing to frequently get him in the game.

Nicolas Jackson is the key to unlocking Cole Palmer 🔑

Are you taking Jackson back?

We are having Palmer start off the right, allowing him to come inside as a rejuvenated Reece James starts to make more of an impact in attack himself.

While he would no doubt prosper in the middle, this role will be left for Joao Pedro, who has arguably been Chelsea’s best signing of the last couple of seasons.

Micah Richards recently said a partnership of Pedro and Liam Delap would thrive, however it is fair to say that Jackson is a significant upgrade on the former Ipswich Town man.

With Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in support, the only remaining spot would be left-wing, where Rosenior has a number of options.

How Chelsea COULD line-up with Nicolas Jackson

Could this side win the Premier League?

Despite it not being his natural position, we are selecting Estevao Willian for the position, ahead of both Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho.

Estevao has reportedly been promised a future at the number 10 role, and it feels only a few years until it will very much be his team.

The fluidity between this front four would be its real asset. Every single one of them would look comfortable in all four of those roles.
