Kroenke means business: Arsenal serious about signing Ballon d'Or winner Arteta called "magic"

Arsenal are now seriously considering a move for a £300k-a-week Paris Saint-Germain, who has received high praise from Mikel Arteta in the past.

Gunners eyeing statement summer signing

The Gunners are still on track to win the Premier League title, sitting four points clear of Manchester City, but they have lacked a reliable goalscorer, with Viktor Gyokeres finding the net just eight times, and two of those came from the penalty spot.

Bukayo Saka has also struggled as of late, failing to score in his last ten Premier League appearances, and the 24-year-old was unable to break his duck in the 4-0 FA Cup victory against Wigan Athletic, during which he was deployed in a number 10 role.

Arteta has since suggested Saka could be given the nod in that position on a more regular basis, saying: "That's something that's a possibility and I wanted to try it, and we might use it in the future.

"There are still so many games, competitions and different scenarios to play in this season, and that's a possibility that we have."

If Saka moves into a more central area, there may be space in the squad to bring in another winger this summer, and the north Londoners are now eyeing the statement signing of a PSG star.

Saka-Madueke-Arsenal

That is according to a report from Spain, which states Arsenal are now seriously considering a move for Ousmane Dembele, and PSG could be tempted to cash-in, should they receive a huge offer.

Stan Kroenke & co clearly mean business, with the Gunners planning to make a move in the summer, as Arteta is keen on bringing in a forward who 'can bring unpredictability and individual flair', and Dembele could be an exciting option, having won the 2025 Ballon d'Or.

Arteta is an admirer of "magic" Dembele

Regarded as one of the best wingers in world football, the Frenchman won the Ballon d'Or for the first time last year, off the back of playing a major role in PSG winning the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, and Champions League.

Champions League 15 4

Arteta is also a keen admirer of the 28-year-old, saying ahead of the Gunners' Champions League clash against the French side: "Dembele has the ability to do something unexpected on the pitch, to create his magic moments."

The PSG star's versatility could also be useful to Arteta, having often featured as a centre-forward for PSG this season, chipping in with eight goals and four assists in 14 Ligue 1 appearances.

With Arsenal lacking a consistent goalscorer, despite sitting top of the Premier League table, Dembele could be a real statement signing, but his wage demands could be very high, given that he pockets £300k-a-week at PSG.
