The agent of Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has poured cold water on links of a move to Real Madrid. Szoboszlai, 25, has been tipped to join the Spanish giants as he continues to be Liverpool's standout player in an indifferent campaign.
Talk of summer switch to the Bernabeu intensified after Hungary manager Marco Rossi claimed that Szoboszlai has always 'dreamed' of playing for Real. Rossi's comments came after Real's Vinicius Junior revealed that he's friends with Szoboszlai and regularly messages him.
But the midfielder's agent, Matyas Esterhazy, insists that his client isn't 'looking elsewhere'. "It's completely normal for the public, when Dominik is performing like this, to talk about what's next and if there's something higher," Esterhazy told Hungarian publication NB1.
"So at the moment to talk about what will happen in the summer in my opinion is not correct. Not to mention, Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and Dominik is in a position within the team that has a lot of reserve, so we are not looking outside or elsewhere."
What's more is that Szoboszlai recently confirmed that he's in talks with Anfield chiefs over a new contract. The former RB Leipzig ace has two-and-a-half years left on the deal which he signed when joining Liverpool for £60million in 2023.
Earlier this month, Szoboszlai revealed that there'd been no progress in negotiations but he remains happy on Merseyside. "Nothing yet, to be honest. Nothing. From now on… it is not in my hands," the 25-year-old explained.
"There is no progression but if the right offer comes then let's see. We will see. It is always there and back and there. Let's see what happens, hopefully everyone will be happy at the end.

"I like the city, I like the club, I like playing with these guys, I love Anfield, I love the fans, let's see what the future holds."
Szoboszlai has scored on his last two appearances for Liverpool, taking him to 10 goals for the season. The Hungary captain also has seven assists to his name, making this campaign his most prolific since joining the Reds.
Liverpool travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League. Arne Slot's side then host West Ham before a testing March which will see them in league, FA Cup and Champions League action.
