Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior will hope to continue his strong start to his tenure when the Blues host Burnley on Saturday.
The Englishman has overseen four wins and a draw from five Premier League matches since taking charge of the west London outfit last month, while also guiding his side to two victories in the FA Cup.
Last time out, Chelsea defeated Hull City – one of Rosenior’s former sides – to set up a sixth round tie against Championship outfit Wrexham.
Ahead of that fixture, it has emerged that Chelsea are interested in a Premier League defender.
According to CaughtOffside, the London side have been monitoring Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo as they assess possible transfer targets ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
The report claims that the Blues are one of several clubs showing interest in the defender, although they have carried out the most extensive work in regard to scouting the player.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in the Brazilian, who recently made his 100th appearance for Forest having joined the club from Corinthians back in 2023.
The defender has formed an impressive partnership with Nikola Milenkovic at the heart of Forest’s defence over the past couple of seasons, and Forest will be understandably reluctant to allow the player to depart.
The report suggests that the club could demand a fee in the region of £60-70 million to allow the player to leave The City Ground.
His current contract is set to expire in 2029 but doesn’t include a release clause, which puts his current employers in a commanding position.
Murillo is also said to have attracted interest from several top European sides, including Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
