Levi Colwill is on the road to recovery post-ACL injury, and has been in training – but fans shouldn’t get too excited yet.
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is continuing his recovering from a serious knee injury, and recent picture of him training have fans excited. But on the London is Blue podcast this week, Matt Law threw cold water on the notion he could be playing again this season:
“There’s a bit of word that they hope he will play again this season, but I’d be surprised,” the Telegraph journalist said.
“I’ve written him off for this season. A lot of the time when you see these players coming back for ‘training’ you can get excited, but they’re a long way off. It makes no sense to be putting any pressure at all on Levi.”

If all goes well, we could see a final day cameo just to reward him for his hard work and to lift spirits ahead of the summer. We saw something similar with Ben Chilwell a few years ago. But even that feels only a remote possibility.
We have plenty of cover at the back, and no need to take any risk whatsoever.

👀 @Matt_Law_DT: There's word he [Colwill] will play again this season. I'd be surprised. Many times when you saw players return for training [post-ACL] in pictures, they were a long way off. It makes no sense to start putting any pressure on Colwill.

In other news…
The last few weeks have seen some Chelsea interest in Marcos Senesi rumoured – but it always felt unlikely, and recent updates have confirmed that suspicion.
But Chelsea will have a lot of action incoming this summer – Emmanuel Emegha has been signed, and we now know that Nicolas Jackson is coming back too. How we figure out what happens with those two is another question.
