Liverpool are now ready to rival Manchester United in the race to sign a midfield sensation after sending their scouts to watch him in action.
Liverpool send scouts to watch new midfield target
This new-look Liverpool side are slowly but surely beginning to show signs of life. Defeat against Manchester City was a frustrating blow at Anfield, but victories over both Sunderland and Brighton & Hove Albion were refreshingly professional.
The form of Mohamed Salah has played an important part in those recent wins in the Premier League and the FA Cup, even if the Egyptian hasn't been scoring with the same ruthless nature that Anfield has become used to.
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah celebrates scoring their third goal
Becoming more of a playmaker as of late, Salah assisted Virgil van Dijk's winner against Sunderland, before adding another assist and a goal from the spot against Brighton at Anfield. At long last this season, Liverpool's Egyptian King is beginning to make his mark on the current campaign.
Arne Slot welcomed Salah's recent return to form last weekend, which seems to indicate that the duo's December disagreement is long behind them.
The Liverpool boss said: "It's very nice to have him on the scoresheet again and him having an assist. But I think what I like the most at the moment, that he's scoring goals is something you can almost expect, but he also helps the team a lot defensively."

The Reds' recent form has also eased pressure to splash the cash in a moment of panic this summer and instead focus on young talents like Caleb Yirenkyi.
According to TeamTalk, Liverpool are ready to rival Man United to sign Yirenkyi after sending their scouts to watch the Nordsjaelland midfielder, with United having already made their approach.
"Outstanding" Yirenkyi is one to watch
At just 20 years old, Yirenkyi looks destined to become the latest top talent to come out of the Right to Dream academy at Nordsjaelland, having attracted interest from across the Premier League.
Dubbed an "outstanding box-to-box" midfielder by talent scout Jacek Kulig earlier this month, Yirenkyi could become the perfect replacement for Alexis Mac Allister at Anfield.
The Argentine has struggled to make the same impact as last season under Slot, though is beginning to show signs of life following a recent upturn in form.

One of Liverpool's struggling superstars is beginning to return to full strength.
Even after that recent form, however, Yirenkyi could be lying in wait to act as an instant replacement in Slot's side this summer, as Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes get ruthless.
