Bukayo Saka has been the man for Arsenal. He has now become one of the successful stories of The Hale End Academy. He brought in some great spirit within him and for the team. However, if the guesses of who, other than Saka himself, brings the best out of him, rarely fans can even come close to guessing Noni Madueke.
The Noni Madueke Factor
Arsenal bought Noni Madueke from Chelsea as a part of a £48 million deal plus add-ons. Noni Madueke was not having the time of his life in Chelsea as he was, most of the time, a part of criticism. Moreover, the whole Chelsea’s form was also in question due to their mismanagement. He has played 92 games for Chelsea and has scored 20 goals. He has the quickness, strength and the killing instinct that the Premier League demands. Most people, including the pundits and analysts, thought that he would compete with Bukayo Saka for the right wing spot. However, nearly nobody thought that he would be the reason that Bukayo Saka will reach the peak of his performances.
Dynamic Pairing Against Wigan
On 15th February 2026, Arsenal played the fourth round of FA Cup against Wigan Athletic. It started with a bit awfulness as Riccardo Calafiori suffered injury in the warm up. So, it became a reason for Bukayo Saka to play in an unusual centre midfield role. Mikel Arteta trusted the right wing spot with Noni Madueke. Arsenal won the match 4-0 with goal raining within the first 30 minutes.
Noni Madueke scored the first goal within 10 minutes of the play. Saka poured in a fine through ball that Madueke calmly finished. Later, Madueke ran through defenders and helped Arsenal create an own goal for Wigan. The two players, Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka, both kept swapping positions at times. This confused the Wigan players and mistakes came with this tactics. Bukayo Saka really enjoyed this match. He was happy and got more free spaces than usual. He actually played one of the best games in weeks. As for Noni Madueke, he also gave a bright performance.
Madueke’s Push Towards Saka
Normally, the opponents usually double mark on Saka. This is the reason why he generally does not get enough spaces to move freely as there is a constant marking from two to three defenders. Although he thrives through this situation, at times it becomes annoying for him to mark the gaps.
However, when Madueke plays at the same time, everything changes. The right side becomes too crowded for the team too handle. The defenders get confused on whether to mark Saka or Madueke. Moreover, the constant changing of pace is not always possible for teams to manage.
Madueke’s Selfless Approach
Having both the players on the pitch at the same time is like having two fast attackers on the same road. Madueke helps to pull the defenders which lets Saka breath and make spaces for Arsenal to thrive in. It helps Saka to dribble past defenders and create great chances for strikers like Gyokeres to finish.
This is the reason that the right side of the pitch becomes so loaded that it breaks the left back and the center back. Most of the time it nearly collapses as we have seen in the match against Athletic Wigan and other Premier League matches.

A Stable Condition for The Future
Nobody in the European circuit had any cluse that Noni Madueke out of all people, will bring the best out of Bukayo Saka. However, the game of football is always full of surprises and this might be one of them is sustains for a longer run.
