Arsenal have reportedly signed Bukayo Saka to a new contract tying him down for five more years.

The Gunners come off a 4-0 FA Cup win against Wigan Athletic, which has booked them a fifth round tie against Mansfield Town, as they continue to compete for the quadruple.

During the game, winger Bukayo Saka was forced to play as a number 10 due to injuries to the likes of Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Riccardo Calafiori, but he still performed as well as ever, as he remains a star player for the Gunners.

So far this season, Saka has made 33 appearances under Arteta, scoring seven goals, and providing seven assists.

Saka signs 5-year deal at Arsenal

According to BBC Sport, Saka has signed a new contract at Arsenal after verbally agreeing to extend his stay at the club last month.

It is understood that the England international’s new deal is a five-year deal which is set to keep him at the Emirates until June 2031. His previous contract was due to expire at the end of next seas0n.

Saka’s new deal makes him the highest-paid Arsenal player too, breaking a record, with Kai Havertz the previous holder. It is understood that the 24-year-old will earn £300,000 per week in his new improved contract.

Rio Ferdinand believes Saka is world-class

Saka has a lot of admirers thanks to his incredible work both in an Arsenal shirt, and in an England shirt, as he has become one of the world’s best at his position.

Speaking on TNT Sports, former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand said that Saka is one of the world’s best players. He said: “100% world-class footballer… a world-class player who will decide matches now for the rest of his career at the top level.”
