Liverpool deny talks with England star

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Sunday when they visit relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest.

The reigning champions have endured a torrid campaign so far and currently sit sixth in the top flight standings, with their hopes of retaining the title having disintegrated late last year.

Arne Slot’s side did defeat Brighton and hove Albion 3-0 in the FA Cup fourth round in their last outing, though, setting up a fifth round tie against Premier League strugglers Wolves.

Away from the action, however, it has emerged that Liverpool have been quick to cool speculation surrounding a possible move for an England international.

As per TEAMtalk, the Merseyside outfit have rubbished rumours that they have been in contact with the representatives of Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

It is claimed that several Premier League sides are showing interest in Rogers, who has established himself as an important player for both Villa and England over the past 12 months.

In total he has made 107 appearances for the Villans across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and registering 24 assists.

Chelsea are one of the clubs said to be interested in the attacking midfielder, while Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Premier League leaders Arsenal are all also said to be admirers of the Englishman and are monitoring his situation.

While several clubs are circling around the England international, it is claimed that the player himself and his representatives have been quick to reiterate his commitment to Villa.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also said to have been doing background work on a possible move for Rogers, who joined Villa from Middlesbrough 2024.

Rogers is under contract at Villa Park until the end of the 2030/31 campaign, and Villa will be reluctant to lose such a key player.
