With every passing week, it becomes clearer that Robert Lewandowski is indeed in his final season as a Barcelona player and that a new number nine will be essential in the summer.
After all, Ferran Torres is not a true poacher despite his numbers, and Hansi Flick’s system demands a consistent goalscorer who can be relied on.
The club, thus, have been on the lookout for a few months now, and have been linked to various names including Julian Alvarez and Dusan Vlahovic.
Now, SPORT brings the light that the Italian media have a new name linked with Catalonia.
Marcus Thuram back on Barcelona’s radar
Indeed, the player being linked with a move to Barcelona in the Italian media is none other than Marcus Thuram, Inter Milan’s French striker, whose contract ends in 2028.
Thuram is being touted as a target for the Blaugrana, with reliable Italian outlets claiming that the La Liga champions would be willing to negotiate with Inter Milan for his signing.

His current market value stands at approximately €60 million and he is seen as a viable option be Lewandowski’s long-term replacement in Catalonia. The hurdle, however, is Inter Milan’s demands of €80 million for his signing.
Thuram has been linked with Barcelona in the past, most notably in the summer of 2023, when he was seen as an option to reinforce the attack. The finances and club priorities at the time, however, saw the move fail to go through.
This time, however, the interest from Barcelona is believed to more serious, and it remains to be seen if the Frenchman is willing to leave Inter Milan. After all, he is competing with Lautaro Martinez at the Serie A outfit, and is being outshone by the Argentine.
So far this season, Thuram has scored seven goals and provided five assists for his team across all competitions.
