Despite impressing in his short but incredibly sweet tenure thus far, one Chelsea legend can't even envisage Liam Rosenior seeing the year out with the Blues

Emmanuel Petit has brutally suggested that Liam Rosenior won't even see out the year at Chelsea, despite an encouraging start to his reign.
The 41-year-old boasts an impressive record of eight victories, one draw and just two losses in all competitions since assuming control at Stamford Bridge following Enzo Maresca's departure last month.
With the Blues occupying fifth place in the Premier League table, the prospect of European football for 2026/27 appears increasingly realistic with each passing week.
While he may steer Chelsea towards Champions League qualification depending on how his next 12 fixtures unfold, Petit doubts he'll remain at the helm to lead the Blues in next season's edition of the competition.
He told Ignition Casino: "Can Liam Rosenior ever win a Premier League title with Chelsea? They've been changing players every single year. So consistency and stability are very important if you want to win something.
"You have to stick with your players, have a vision, and stick with it. It doesn't matter if you go through dark tunnels, you have to stick with it. You have to believe in it. You have to send a message to the dressing room, whatever happens on the pitch, even if we got bad results, we stick with our ideas. Liverpool did that, and they won trophies.
"City did that, and they won trophies. Arsenal have been doing that for years now and are not far from winning it. We will see at the end of the season. So look at Manchester United, look at Spurs, look at Chelsea, all those clubs.
"They've been changing players and managers so many times. And then all of a sudden you want them to win the title? And you're asking me if Liam Rosenior is capable of winning the title with Chelsea? I'm not sure if he's going to be the manager in 10 months. If he has three or four bad results in a row, I will not be surprised if the board sacks him."
It's a bold assessment from the Frenchman, who represented Chelsea between 2001 and 2004, particularly considering how Rosenior has succeeded in building such strong bonds with his players in such a brief period. Yet the west London side haven't lifted the Premier League trophy since 2016/17 under Antonio Conte, with Petit evidently attributing blame to the constant upheaval at Stamford Bridge over recent years.
Chelsea are renowned for their lavish spending, bringing in 11 new faces last summer alone as part of a sweeping squad rebuild. But Petit insists the club must show patience with a settled group and develop them gradually, rather than constantly reshuffling their pack each year, if they genuinely want to challenge for the championship again.
Trailing league-topping Arsenal by 13 points, Chelsea are widely considered out of contention for this year's crown, despite accumulating 12 victories, eight draws and six defeats so far this campaign.

With just 12 matches left, including games against the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, Rosenior's primary aim will be to break into the top five and secure Champions League qualification.
Next up for Chelsea is a match against a beleaguered Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, February 21. A victory could potentially propel Chelsea into fourth place, although this would be temporary depending on the result of Manchester United's match with Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday, February 23.
