Savannah Guthrie pleads for mother’s recovery
Nancy, who is 84-years-old, has been reported missing on February 1, 2026, from her home in the Catalina Foothills area outside Tucson, Arizona. She was last seen on the evening of January 31, after dining with her daughter Annie and son-in-law. The next morning, she was supposed to be present for a planned church service, but her absence alerted family members.

The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are both treating the case as a suspected kidnapping. The reason to believe so is her doorbell’s camera footage showed a masked individual with a handgun around 1 AM, and tampered with the camera. DNA has also been found on a discarded glove in a nearby field two miles away while blood drops were also found on the doorstep. A reported ransom of $6 million has been asked by the kidnappers, and family members have been cleared as suspects already.
Two weeks after the incident with no advances and arrests in the case, Savannah posted an emotional plea for help on her Instagram, asking those responsible to return her. She said, “It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope, and we still believe… To whoever has her or knows where she is, it’s never too late, and you are not lost or alone. It is never too late to do the right thing. We are here, and we believe in the essential goodness of every human being.
Support has come from high places, with President Donald Trump promising to impose the death penalty on those responsible. Meanwhile, alongside many people, NFL stars and personalities have also called for a quick resolution to the matter.
