Eagles Mock Draft: Team Selects Future Hall of Famer’s Replacement

Eagles Mock Draft Projects Team to Draft Offensive Tackle in First Round

The Philadelphia Eagles have several directions they could take in the 2026 NFL Draft. There is a convincing argument to be made regarding whether they should focus on offense or defense. A recent Eagles mock draft has the team focusing on the offensive side of the ball, though. Specifically, the team selects Lane Johnson’s eventual replacement.

Eagles Mock Draft Strengthens Offensive Line

The Eagles hold the 23rd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. With this pick, Daniel Jeremiah, analyst at NFL Network, predicts the team drafts offensive tackle Blake Miller:

“Even if *Lane Johnson**decides to put off retirement, I believe the Eagles would not mind having his eventual replacement on the roster.*“

Miller is a 6’6″, 315-pound lineman out of Clemson University. He played in 54 games across four years at Clemson, starting all of them. His quickness and agility are among the best of any lineman in the draft. Combining this quickness with his massive frame helps him helps compliment his agility with strength. This combination helps him dominate edge rushers who rely on speed instead of power. He does struggle with hand placement, though. While running and pass blocking, incorrect hand placement leads to him being off balance and being shed by defenders. Although he thrives against speed rushers, some of his struggles come against power rushers.

This Eagles mock draft will help them reinforce the trenches. The 2025 season was not up to standard offensively. Many linemen were banged up throughout the season, including Jordan Mailata and Cam Jurgens. Rumors have circulated about Johnson and Landon Dickerson considering retirement, leaving the offensive line’s outlook in question.

Miller would help right away and long-term. He will serve as much-needed depth, assuming the Eagles retain their starters from 2025. If Johnson retires, Miller could insert at right tackle as a day-one starter. Even if Dickerson retires, the team could play him at right guard to fix an immediate need. Too often in 2025, the Eagles suffered from poor line play. Players like Matt Pryor struggled when called upon. Fred Johnson was serviceable, but not a long-term answer. Miller would solve both of these issues.

Other Draft Options

While this Eagles mock draft has them selecting Miller, they could go a number of different directions.

If they wanted to stick with the offensive line, another option would be Kadyn Proctor from the University of Alabama. Proctor fits the mold of what the Eagles look for in a player. He is 6’7″, 366-pound tackle with elite athleticism. He is a project and would require refinement, but the Eagles have never been shy of drafting these types of players. Especially if Johnson commits to returning for the 2026 season, the team could be more comfortable drafting a long-term prospect instead of immediate help.

In this mock draft, the Los Angeles Chargers selected tight end Kenyon Sadiq at pick 22, right before the Eagles. This is another prospect the Eagles could look to draft. Sadiq is widely regarded as the best tight end in the draft. He is an athletic player who would be an immediate threat in the passing game. The Eagles’ top three tight ends from the 2025 season, including Dallas Goedert, are all slated to hit free agency. This could be a perfect opportunity for the Eagles to select a high-end prospect that fills an immediate need while also being a foundational piece for the future.
