The Atlanta Falcons are under a new era of leadership. As a result, the Falcons’ offense will be under a new scheme.
The Atlanta Falcons hired head coach Kevin Stefanski on January 17th, 2026. Stefanski is known to be an offensive mind. As the new head coach, he will have the opportunity to work with a loaded offense.
According to PFF, there is one star in particular that is predicted to take a step forward in 2026.
Bijan Robinson Is Expected to Remain Dominant
Bijan Robinson has proven to be one of the best running backs in the NFL. With Stefanski on board, Robinson is predicted to be even better under an offensive mind.
“Though his peak can’t get much higher, Robinson will still likely benefit from an offense in Stefanski’s vision.” Thomas Valentine wrote in a PFF article. “Stefanski’s offenses have historically been at their best when they’re running the ball. In his six seasons in charge, the Browns were 17th in EPA per rushing play and averaged more yards after contact per attempt than any team in the NFL.”
Bijan Robinson recorded 1,478 yards rushing and 820 yards receiving in 2025. These impressive numbers earned Robinson a Pro Bowl selection and a First-Team All-Pro selection. Robinson averaged a career high 5.2 yards per carry this season, his first season above the 5.0-yard mark.
The Atlanta Falcons offense have shown flashes of being great with talent they have. However, the team has struggled to find its groove over the last decade. Having Bijan Robinson as a centerpiece can help Atlanta get to where they want to be. The Atlanta Falcons ranked 14th in the NFL in total offense in 2025.
“With Kevin Stefanski now at the helm, Atlanta’s backfield, which featured the NFL’s leader in yards from scrimmage in 2025, is set for a boost.” Arkesh Ray wrote in a Sports Illustrated article. PFF’s projects that Stefanski’s run-heavy offense, proven with Nick Chubb in Cleveland, will allow Bijan Robinson to maximize his explosiveness and efficiency.”
Kevin Stefanski’s Previous Offensive Success
Kevin Stefanski is a two-time coach of the year with the Cleveland Browns. Stefanski led the Browns to their first playoff appearance since 2002.
During his healthy years, Nick Chubb was successful during his tenure with the Cleveland Browns under Stefanski.
“In his three fully healthy seasons under Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland, Nick Chubb was extremely efficient, averaging at least five yards per carry each year: 5.6 in 2020 (second among running backs), 5.5 in 2021 (third) and 5.0 in 2022 (fourth). He was averaging a ridiculous 6.1 yards per carry in 2023 before he got injured two weeks into the season.” Ray wrote in the SI article.
With the 2026 NFL season in sight, Bijan Robinson has expressed joy in working with Kevin Stefanski for the foreseeable future.
“I’m really excited about it,” Robinson said in an interview with Good Morning Football. “I talked to Kevin, and he’s a great human being. The cool thing is, he has a plan already. You already know he sees the vision of the team. He sees the vision of what he wants.”
“Just talking to him, he knows how to utilize everybody for their skillsets,” Robinson said. “He knows how to put everybody in the right positions. I’m super excited about that because I add more to the run game and the pass game. I do a lot of different things on the football field, so hearing his plan and hearing what he has to say is pretty awesome.”
