How former Chelsea star who could now cost£70m compares to club's current left wingers

Chelsea sold Christian Pulisic to AC Milan back in 2023 for £20m, which has proven to be a bit of a bargain for the Italian club.

Since then, Chelsea have signed Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens for the left flank.

However, none of the trio have been able to cement the spot there, with Sancho not even at the club any more.

Even the Hull City fans were booing Alejandro Garnacho 🤣

Ultimately, the Blues have not really upgraded on Pulisic, who could return to the Premier League to punish them next season.

Christian Pulisic has outperformed Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens

According to CaughtOffside, Milan could sell Pulisic for up to €80m (£69.9m) this summer and English clubs are already circling.

With Garnacho and Gittens on their books, Chelsea are unlikely to enter that race. Pulisic has played as a striker this season, but he has spent most of his career on the flank. During his Chelsea days, he mostly played on the left.

This term, Pulisic has scored 10 goals in all competitions, whereas Garnacho has only scored six despite playing more minutes. Gittens has only netted once and that came in the Carabao Cup, though it was a screamer.

No Chelsea winger has put in a better performance than Jamie Gittens this season!

Garnacho may be playing out wide, but he is actually averaging fewer dribbles than Pulisic. According to FotMob, he is completing 1.00 dribbles per 90 minutes, while Pulisic is making 1.31 per 90 minutes.

Gittens clears both of them with an average of 2.39, but right now, Pulisic is the better all-round attacker out of the three.

The USA international scored 17 goals last season and 15 the season before that. He is the more finished article, which you would expect given that he is 27 and the Chelsea duo are still both 21.

Jurgen Klinsmann now thinks Pulisic is “world-class”, which is very debatable. But he is certainly a good forward.

Christian Pulisic would be a starter at Chelsea now

The Pulisic ship has sailed and maybe one day Garnacho and Gittens will both surpass the Milan star. They have the potential to.

However, had Pulisic been at Chelsea right now, he would probably be starting games on the left.

Gittens is injured and Garnacho has blown hot and cold, resulting in Estevao Willian and Pedro Neto playing there at times. Both players prefer the opposite flank.
