Pitch from Browns vp to balking season ticketholder falls flat

In January, I wrote a letter to the editor about [never giving Jimmy Haslam another penny and not renewing my season tickets](https://www.cleveland.com/letters/2026/01/browns-season-ticket-holder-will-not-give-the-haslam-group-another-penny.html). The Plain Dealer/cleveland.com was gracious enough to publish it.

This is my follow-up after I wrote the same to the Browns ticket office. I subsequently got a call from Mike Judge, vice president of ticket sales. After pleasantries, Mr. Judge let me vent. I said thatm for every Carson Schwesinger, there are 15 Justin Gilberts, Barkevious Mingos and Johnny Manziels. Haslam has drafted a starting quarterback because a homeless person told him to; then, he drafted an alleged sexual predator.

Every year, he says, “Things will get better;” that, “We will get it right.” Two things were the end for me and the Haslams after 15 years of his stupidity:

1.Blaming Kevin Stefanski as the problem.

2.Floating the idea of ticket licenses for season tickets that could start at $1,000 -- and maybe go up to $50,000 a ticket into Haslam’s pocket -- for fans to have the privilege of buying a ticket.

Mr. Judge thanked me and said the Haslam family he works for is totally committed to winning. I don’t disagree. Where Mr. Judge fell short is that the Haslam group knows nothing about football. Please, stick with gas stations.
