Micah Parsons Challenges Skip Bayless to Play Linebacker After Media Criticism

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons has never been shy about speaking his mind, and his latest response to longtime TV analyst Skip Bayless made that very clear.

Parsons, a four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher, is the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history after signing a four-year, $188 million deal with Green Bay.

He has been sidelined since tearing his ACL in Green Bay’s Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos in Dec 2025.

Rather than staying quiet, he used the time to go on record against Bayless and other media personalities, calling out criticism from people who have never played his position.

His sharpest line, captured on X on Tuesday: “Come play my position Skip… Cause I can do what you do. S**t, I do it better sometimes.”

Bayless, a polarizing sports media veteran with decades of NFL commentary behind him, has been one of Parsons’ loudest critics. That friction is not new.

The history goes back at least to Jan 2024, when Bayless called Parsons “just not that dude” on his podcast and said he had “proved to be a better podcaster than a playmaker.”

In Aug 2025, with Parsons still in Dallas, Bayless called his preseason conduct “child-like” on his podcast over a sideline jersey dispute during a preseason game.

When the Cowboys traded Parsons to Green Bay, Bayless posted on X: “MICAH IS A PLAYER WITH WHAT I CALL ‘LOSER INTANGIBLES.'”

Before his season ended, Parsons had recorded 12.5 sacks and led the entire NFL with 83 pressures through 14 games, per NFL Next Gen Stats.

Parsons Eyes a Return to the Field After a Long Road of Recovery

The public exchange aside, the physical side of Parsons’ situation is just as real. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported a nine-month recovery window, placing a return close to the 2026 season opener.

Parsons has been honest about what that looks like in practice.

“I think lofty, I’d be saying Week 1,” he said in comments reported by Yahoo Sports. “But realistically, probably like Week 3, Week 4, just to make sure and just getting back into football.”

Green Bay built a significant portion of its 2025 defensive scheme around Parsons. Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley had tailored the defense around his strengths in his very first season with the team.

Bayless has built the argument he wants against Parsons. The only thing left is for Parsons to step on the field and build a different one.
