Fans think there's some extra meaning to Maxx Crosby's latest podcast guest.
Rumors have swirled about the Las Vegas Raiders star wanting a new team. The star pass rusher shrugged off a report that he "will never suit up for the Raiders again and is intent on playing elsewhere in 2026."
Crosby won't confirm or deny any trade desires, so fans are instead scrutinizing his podcast for clues. They feel he offered up a glaring one when Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams appeared on Tuesday's episode of The Rush.
Social media users quickly began dreaming of Crosby joining Williams in Chicago.
"Brace yourself, Bears fans: Caleb Williams joins (future teammate?) Maxx Crosby on his podcast," 670 The Score's David Hough wrote.
"Maxx Crosby in a Bears uniform would be the best thing ever," Austin Holman declared.
"Caleb Williams can easily influence the Bears to make a trade for Maxx Crosby," a fan wrote.
"Maxx Crosby to the Bears would feed generations to come," another fan said.
Crosby praised Williams
Bears fans may especially get their hopes up after listening to Crosby compliment Williams at the end of the podcast.
"You're one of those guys for sure, and you're just getting started," Crosby told Williams. "I don't even know (if) you understand yet how good you can be, and that's the scariest part, you know what I mean? Just keep that mindset, keep doing what you're doing, and you know we're locked in forever."
The Bears are suddenly an attractive destination thanks to Williams, who led them to an NFC North title in his second season. His unbelievable touchdown throw sent the NFC Divisional Round into overtime, but the Los Angeles Rams prevailed.
Williams and head coach Ben Johnson have nevertheless reignited an organization that had not won a playoff game in 15 years. A game-changing defender like Crosby could be the missing piece.
The Bears produced an NFL-high 33 takeaways, but they also allowed the league's fourth-most yards with just 35 sacks. Adding Crosby could make the Bears a dangerous contender in 2026.
