U.S. STEEL PARTNERS WITH NFL FILMS
The Steelers have a unique connection with their city and fans. While the steel industry isn’t as prominent in Pittsburgh today, it’s a huge part of the city’s history. That’s how the Steelers got their name. They help keep the memory of Pittsburgh’s roots alive, and NFL Films’ upcoming documentary about Pittsburgh is also connected to the steel industry.
U.S. Steel announced on Twitter that they’re partnering with NFL Films and the Steelers on The Football Town, a documentary set to look at Pittsburgh’s connection to football. It also helps U.S. Steel celebrate its 125th anniversary. The documentary premieres on February 28th, and it should be a fun watch for Steelers fans.
TOMLIN AT BASKETBALL GAME
Mike Tomlin won’t be coaching the Steelers this season for the first time in almost 20 years. He decided to step down after 2025, wanting to spend more time with his family. While Tomlin was beloved by his players, it’s easy to understand why he walked away. It looks like he’s enjoying his time away from the NFL, though.
NC Central basketball head coach LeVelle Moton recently shared on Twitter that Tomlin came to one of the university’s recent games. Tomlin and Moton are friends, so it makes sense that the former Steelers head coach would come out and show his support. The NFL is a time-consuming business, but now, Tomlin doesn’t have to worry about that. He can do whatever he wants.
DRAFT TERRIBLE TOWEL
The NFL draft is coming to Pittsburgh this year. It’s a massive event, and it should bring a lot of business to the city. However, it’s also important for the Steelers, who are expected to have 12 draft picks. That’s several chances to improve their roster.
Fans in attendance will be able to show their support, too. The Steelers Pro Shop is selling a new Terrible Towel to commemorate the draft coming to Pittsburgh. Fans who plan to attend the draft can get themselves a keepsake and a way to show their support when the Steelers make their selections.
