Reggie Watson headlines for Chelsea players named in England U16 squad

It is no surprise he has been named in England’s U16 side who are set to face Denmark, Spain and France in a set of fixtures to be played in Turkey.

He is far from the only Chelsea inclusion in Barry Lewtas’ squad though. In fact, there are four young Blues who will be travelling with England.

In their official announcement, Josh Henry, George Jobling and Thomas McDermott have also been named as part of the defensive unit who will take part in the high-profile games.

Henry is a 15-year-old who already has six caps for the Under 16s, the same amount as Jobling, who is the same age.

Chelsea have history dominating the England youth sides

Last year, England’s U16 side were helped significantly by the impact of Chelsea players, particularly in attack.

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli scored all three goals in a win over Japan, and have since moved on to bigger and better things.

Nicoll-Jazuli has been tipped to make his first team debut soon, with Cole Palmer very aware of his talents already.

The Blues have continued to produce top young talents throughout the years, and have made an effort to show them there is a pathway to the first team after losing out on the services of Rio Ngumoha to Liverpool.
