Real Madrid’s interest in Dominik Szoboszlai has become a talking point in the last week, but Liverpool don’t expect him to leave this summer.
Reports at the beginning of February saw Los Blancos linked with a move for the Liverpool midfielder, who is under contract until 2028.
Hungary’s manager then said that Szoboszlai dreams of playing for Real Madrid at some point in his career.

The £74m valuation of the Hungarian would likely make him one of Real’s most expensive signings ever.
However, Liverpool are not expecting him to depart Anfield in the summer of 2026.

The journalist reported that Liverpool are prepared to meet all the player’s demands, with it suggested elsewhere that he could ask for a £300,000-a-week contract.
Meanwhile, insiders at the club are said to be confident of a deal being completed before the 2026/27 campaign gets underway despite the links to Real Madrid.
It’s claimed that their stance on keeping hold of the versatile player is ‘firm, unwavering and backed by the club’s hierarchy at every level’.

Dominik Szoboszlai would become one of Liverpool’s highest earners
Currently, Szoboszlai is earning £120,000-a-week at Anfield, according to Capology.
That means that despite being called Liverpool’s best player by multiple sources this term, he is only the 12th-highest earner at the club behind players like Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo.
However, if the aforementioned suggestion that he wants £300,000-a-week proves correct, he will become the third-highest earner at Anfield.
Only Mohamed Salah (£400,000-a-week) and Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk (£350,000-a-week) are earning more right now.
