"Wouldn't surprise me..."- Liverpool dealt potentially devastating summer transfer verdict

**Dominik Szoboszlai has become one of Liverpool’s most important players, but former scout Mick Brown has talked up a summer exit from Anfield.**

The Hungarian has been sensational for the Reds this season, standing out as easily their best player in a campaign where too many star players have struggled, scoring 10 goals in all competitions.

Szoboszlai is reportedly a boyhood Real Madrid and there have been rumours linking him with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/dominik-szoboszlai-tempted-to-quit-liverpool-after-real-madrid-confession/), Brown claimed that he could see the 25-year-old leaving Liverpool for Madrid, but did also stress that he could easily stay put:

_“Any player will be tempted to join Real Madrid, that’s the way things are. We see it all the time from Real Madrid, they’re linked with a player, and all of a sudden their superstars start speaking about them publicly and speculation ramps up. It’s the way they do things, they want to unsettle players and then it makes it easier to buy them._

_“I think Szoboszlai is happy at Liverpool and I haven’t been told anything to suggest otherwise, but all the talk about Real Madrid is bound to make an impact._

_“If he’s presented with the opportunity to go there, it wouldn’t surprise me at all. Liverpool obviously will want to keep hold of him, he’s been excellent so far this season and he’s a big part of their side, but it’s difficult when Madrid come calling, as they know.”_

**Liverpool cannot sell Szoboszlai at any price**

-------------------------------------------------

Last summer, there were some who wouldn’t even have had Szoboszlai in Liverpool’s strongest starting lineup, following Florian Wirtz’s arrival from Bayer Leverkusen.

Instead, he has become an indispensable figure for the Reds, and they cannot afford to sell him at any price in the summer, considering he is a potential future captain at Anfield after Virgil van Dijk.

Szoboszlai certainly seems happy at Liverpool, which can only bode well, but they must show their ambition moving forward, in order to show the midfielder they are just as exciting a proposition as Madrid moving forward.
