Hapoel Tel Aviv nearing deal with NBA forward

Hapoel Tel Aviv is closing in on a deal with forward Kessler Edwards, BasketNews sources confirmed. The 25-year-old spent four seasons in the NBA and is expected to add impressive versatility to the roster.

According to BasketNews sources, Hapoel is nearing an agreement with 25-year-old forward Kessler Edwards.

Noa Poplinger of Sport5 was the first to report on the deal being finalized.

A former NBA rotation player is coming off a strong season in the G League.

Edwards, 2.03m-tall, averaged 15.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks while shooting 43% from three in 33 minutes per game for the Grand Rapids Gold.

Across five G League seasons, Edwards has career averages of 14.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks in 33 minutes.

Edwards has also appeared in 178 NBA games for the Brooklyn Nets, Sacramento Kings, and Dallas Mavericks, averaging 3.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.6 assists while shooting 36% from three in under 13 minutes per game.

In his most recent NBA stint with Dallas (2024–25), Edwards averaged 4.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 15 minutes per game.

He started 15 games and had a productive stretch in March, averaging 9.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 27 minutes while shooting 58% from three.

His season high included 22 points and 11 rebounds in a win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Edwards was selected 44th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by Brooklyn.
