Chelsea are said to be keeping an eye on a player who could yet become a free agent this summer.
Chelsea are soon set to discover their fate when it comes to a transfer they are said to like the look of. Liam Rosenior will have all concentration on the matters at hand as his side battles it out for a spot in the Premier League top four.
The Blues are in the thick of that race, and fifth place could yet turn into a Champions League spot, potentially offering a safety net as far as Champions League football is concerned.
Come the summer, Chelsea will be looking to strengthen their squad, with Rosenior likely to want to put his stamp on this team, although it is unclear how much say he will get on recruitment, given Enzo Maresca certainly wasn’t allowed to be the loudest voice in the room when it came to recruitment.
Chelsea have signed young over recent years, and it will be interesting to see if they stick to that strategy or make some allowances to add some polished quality.
One player who has been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is out of contract this summer. Having signed for Juve on a £66.6million fee in 2022, the Old Lady will not want to lose the striker for free, and they are said to be pushing to agree a new deal.
But until they do, clubs will be sniffing around to see if they can turn the Serbian’s head and secure a free deal this summer. Vlahovic has six goals and two assists in 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, and beyond is relatively productive form, he is still only 26 years of age.
Clubs like Chelsea are said to be interested in snatching the striker this summer, but there are some important meetings that will take place first, and they will decide whether a deal is even possible.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio via Sky Sport, Vlahovic will meet with Juventus again over his future in the coming days, and it’s reported that a new deal is still very much possible. Chelsea and others will be keeping an eye on the situation.
