Cleveland Browns, Todd Monken and list of needs: Crowquill

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns head coach, Todd Monken, hired Mike Rutenberg to replace Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator. Rutenberg was previously the passing-game coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons defense. Rutenberg is familiar with the Browns defensive scheme and should not miss a beat in keeping the Browns very talented defense on track.

With the defense’s leader chosen, Monken and GM Andrew Berry can really delve into how they’re going to shore up the offense. The offense has running back Quinshon Judkins returning from injury, plus tight end, Harold Fannin Jr. After those two rookies, virtually the rest of the offense needs an upgrade by way of the draft or free agency.

Improving the offensive line could improve the running game and also give the quarterback more time to make decisions,

which could make an average QB perform more like good one.
