Liverpool have shown interest in Yan Diomande ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window opening.
Diomande, who has been called ‘remarkable’, is currently honing his craft in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.
But he has most recently been put on Liverpool’s four-man shortlist to replace Mohamed Salah, which also includes PSG attacker Desire Doue.

The player has commented on playing at Anfield at some point in his career, saying it is his father’s wish.
But as expected, the player has also been linked with other clubs this season, though Bayern Munich probably can’t afford Diomande while Luis Diaz is on their books as well.
So, it looks more likely that the teenager will secure a move away from Germany, and potentially for a cut-price fee.
RB Leipzig may lower Yan Diomande’s price tag
Currently, RB Leipzig as a squad are enduring a mixed 2025/26 campaign.

They are fifth in the Bundesliga table, sitting two points away from the top four, which is what is required to qualify for the Champions League in Germany.
Should they remain outside of the top four, it could hand Liverpool or any other potential suitors a boost.
Alex Crook of talkSPORT has now reported that Leipzig want more than £80m for Diomande right now.
But failure to qualify for the Champions League in 2025/26 could see that price tag fall.
Crook also named Liverpool as an interested party, mooting Diomande as a potential Salah successor.

Yan Diomande stats vs Mohamed Salah
At present, Salah is having a difficult 2025/26 season.
He did score and assist in the 3-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion, but his form prior to Saturday wasn’t great.
Yet, despite what could be classed as a really bad season by his usually high standards, the Egyptian has seven goals and eight assists in 27 matches.
Diomande, meanwhile, has found the back of the net 11 times and provided seven assists in 34 appearances across all competitions for Leipzig.
