Victor Osimhen has added an unexpected layer to his rapidly developing transfer saga after publicly expressing admiration for Galatasaray, even as Chelsea intensify preparations for a potential summer bid.
The Galatasaray striker, has been at the centre of one of the most high-profile transfer chases in Europe. Long linked with a move to the Premier League, Osimhen’s name has repeatedly surfaced on ***CHELSEA***’s recruitment shortlist as the club seeks a new elite-level forward capable of transforming their attack.
But in a recent interview circulated across on Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of Galatasaray’s clash against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League, Osimhen suggested it was a ‘stroke of luck’ that he found ‘love’ in Istanbul. The Nigeria international said: “I found a club and a city I love, maybe it was a stroke of luck
“As soon as you arrive in Istanbul, you understand why everyone who’s played here has fallen in love with the team and the people. I’ve never experienced anything like it.”
On Galatasaray, Osimhen added: “We’re trying to grow internationally. We’ve signed other top-class players, and we’re aiming to do well in the Champions League. We’re an established force in Turkey, but now we want to make our mark in Europe.”
Chelsea remain the most heavily linked contender at this stage. The London club are expected to prioritise the signing of a proven centre-forward in the next transfer window, and Osimhen has been viewed as an ideal fit for the long-term project under manager Liam Rosenior.
His goal record in Italy an Turkey, combined with his physical profile and ability to lead the line independently, has placed him high on the list of candidates capable of elevating Chelsea’s attacking efficiency.

Despite reports that Osimhen has openly expressed his affection for Galatasaray and feels at home there, it’s far from the end of the road for a Premier League move. His spell in Turkey has boosted his stock.
While his emotional connection to Galatasaray complicates matters, big clubs like CHELSEA could still pursue him if finances and timing align — though competition and his stated contentment make it a challenging pursuit.
